Because Laurel Caverns is a steep natural cave, none of its tours can meet ADA standards for wheel chair accessibility. However, this tour’s route, has been successfully used, since 1964, to accommodate those who cannot walk steps, those with canes or walkers, and those who struggle with knee, hip, or back issues. Even so, this tour still involves about 1,200 feet of walking with views into another 700 feet of colorfully-lit passages.

The ticket counter opens at 9:00 am, and the last tour of the day enters at 4:00 pm. Tour departure times are set so that no one must wait more than twenty minutes for a tour to start. This forty-five-minute tour is designed for the general-public, even those with infants, and does not require special equipment or clothing, other than a light jacket or sweater, and shoes suitable for a natural trail.
